Amp recently started cutting on and off after years of fine service.
I have a Rockford Fosgate 500X bridged for 250W X 2 on two 350W Infinity 10s. I have had this amp since like 2001 and it has done quite well for me. Recently, though, it's started clipping after just a few minutes of play. And it does it even in cool temperatures. (I have a fan on it, anyway.) Is there some part that often gets messed up over time that could be the culprit? A temperature monitoring circuit, maybe? Is there a resister here or capacitor there that could be screwing it up that I can desolder and replace? I really don't wanna have to shell out cash for a new amp. In case I have to do that, though, what do you recommend that has 700 watts RMS and that's reasonably priced?
