There's like two of these posts in the last two weeks.

The solution can be summed up in 5 words:
Do a double din conversion.

Nice way to help out a fellow member. Too bad it doesnt fix the problem. I have the same problem. It only acts up when using the cd changer mode. That's what my Ipod adaptor is plugged to.

He is basically telling the OP how to completely fix the problem. We all know how bad the circuit board on these cars suck.

OP - $100 is a good deal if you have to pay for it and just want to keep the stock look.

My stock radio crapped out 2 weeks after owning the car. I had extended warranty on it and they replaced the radio to the tune of $1600.

Replacing the headunit completely fixes the problem.

Well, I hope the stock headunit doesn't continue to go out on you, otherwise that iPod adapter will be connected to a paperweight.

So you're saying that your friend's left speaker would only fail on CDs with the factory unit, but work with the radio, then installed an aftermarket one, and CDs continue to fail on the left speaker, but not when listening to the radio?

Don't think so.

If his left speaker is failing regardless of source, that's an entirely different problem from the OP.

Which is an entirely different problem from the OP. If it fails on one source - headunit's bad. If it fails on all sources, headunit OR speaker OR amp might be bad.

Does anyone have a link to the where I can send my send My HU in to get the circuit board fixed? Or does anyone know what needs to be re-soldered? Maybe I can do it myself.

His speaker fails only with the ipod connection to the aftermarket radio.

Do you know what is causing the original problem?
