Question New Pioneer DD install - wiring check needed

Hey guys, thanks to everyone on here for the faqs/tips/hints on how to do a DD install. It made it a BIG difference in my confidence level and positive results!

I'm looking for confirmation that I wired everything correctly (paging Wrathernaut!)

Here's the setup on an '04 G coupe:
- Pioneer AVH 3200BT
- Metra 70-7551 and Metra 40-NI10
- JDM dash kit and A/C controller replacement
- Keeping the stock BOSE amp & stock speakers (for now)
- All connections soldered, unused wires taped off

As you know, the Metra 70-7551 has two harnesses:
1. A small one with 1 blue, 1 black wires and 1 green & 1 purple RCA's.
2. A bigger one with 5 colored wires (black, blue, yellow, orange, red) and 1 white and 1 gray RCA's.

The Pioneer comes with a multi-colored harness, some wires have inline resistors and some are even labeled for your convenience.

Followed the wiring instructions in the Pioneer manual, so:
- yellow Pioneer to yellow Metra
- orange/white to orange
- red to red
- light green to G35 green parking brake harness (ugh!)
- black Pioneer to ground nut at bottom of HU cage
- blue/white to blue (small Metra harness)
- green & purple RCA's plug into 'rear speakers' outputs on HU
- white & grey RCA's plug into 'front speakers' outputs on HU
- Metra 40 antenna connected from stock plug to HU antenna plug

More importantly, here's what was NOT hooked-up from Pioneer harness:
- purple/white on Pioneer - for reverse signal (no camera here)
- yellow/black on Pioneer - for mute
- green & purple wires on Pioneer - for manual rear speaker connect?
- white & gray wires on Pioneer - for manual front speaker connect?

And here's what was NOT hooked-up from Metra harness:
- black wire on the small harness -- I think this was a ground I SHOULD have connected?
- black wire on the big harness - another ground I think I should have used?
- blue wire on the big harness -- not sure what its for?

RESULTS:
- Good sound on new HU, no low sound volume or static issues here!
- Bass is weaker than before (known issue?)
- Radio station reception is also weaker, I wonder if the Metra 40 came loose upon re-install in the dash..?
- Check engine light came on, probably from disconnecting battery multiple times

Sorry for the long post & no pics. Any feedback is much appreciated - thanks!

Everything seems good, except the Black/Ground wires always has to be grounded when installing any audio systems.

from my experience in wiring cars, radios, headlight, black is always ground and always should be grounded thats the first step blue/white is always the amp wire goes to aftermarket amp for the subs maybe you should wire that to the stock g35 amp for better base it should also be blue

- yellow/black on Pioneer - for mute see bypass note above
- green & purple wires on Pioneer - for manual rear speaker connect? this is the speaker-level outputs, not used when you're using an amplifier, bose or aftermarket
- white & gray wires on Pioneer - for manual front speaker connect? see above

- black wire on the small harness -- I think this was a ground I SHOULD have connected? yeah, ground it.
- black wire on the big harness - another ground I think I should have used? Ground this too. One has a stripe in it, and is the amp ground, the other grounds to the factory grounding location for the radio.
- blue wire on the big harness -- not sure what its for? this is the antenna amplifier's power signal. It's the reason your reception sucks. Connect it to the same wire as the amp power signal wire.

No pics is unforgivable, get the camera out and share!

Thanks so much the quick replies! It sounds like I should have connected those other wires, heh.
I assume it's okay to solder all the black ground wires together and thus connect them to the same grounding nut that only the HU has at the moment?
I will also connect all the blue wires together and hopefully correct the reception issue.

Also I will take better pics when I re-do these wires and share with you. It's crazy -- we spent over an hour just getting the dash apart, then moving the bits from old deck/dash to new, wasted a ton of time trying to access the parking brake switch, crafting the face plate to fill the gap and then finally wiring it up carefully. In the end, putting it all back together was very rushed so I didn't take many useful pics. Figures!

Yep all those black wires/grounds go right together.

If the reception is still weak after wiring like that, the less optimal solution is to wire the antenna amp (may be labeled power antenna) to the red wire powering the radio, or even the cigarette lighter's 12v power wire.
