Speaker and Amp Recommendations Please

I've been talking with Wrathernaut about getting new speakers and he told me to ask everyone else on the boards so that's what I'm doing. What I'm thinking of doing is replacing the front speakers and amp, and leaving the rears in and maybe adding in a sub at a later time. My car is an 04 non-Bose sedan btw and I'll also have a Pioneer P3200DVD headunit. My budget will be around the $600 range for the speakers and amp so please recommend me your choices. The music I listen to is about 90% punk and rock with a little bit of rap in there too.

I was hoping you'd catch this one, eggyhustles.

That combination should just close the thread.

All you need is an amp install kit, speaker wire, a pair of zenclosure spacers - http://www.zenclosures.com/Speaker_Spacers_s/36.htm - and a few CLD tiles from www.sounddeadenershowdown.com and you'll probably be able to go a while before you feel the need for a sub.

Ok, so if I get a 2-channel amp I will have the front two speakers powered by the amp and the rear two powered by the headunit. Would I be able to power a sub in the future with this amp then? And how would this system sound overall? I'm kind of worried about distortion from the rear speakers ruining the quality of the sound as a whole if that were to happen. If that's the case I may upgrade the rears as well, so would I need a 4-channel amp to power the four speakers and a sub?

No, get a second amp in the future for a sub.

If the rears detract from the front, disconnect them, that's what front soundstage is all about. As rear fill, they should be fine powered from the headunit anyway.

The CLD tiles seem interesting. I've never thought of sound deadening to improve sound music quality. I watched the video of the deadened trunk but since I won't have a sub for a while I figure I can just do the doors and be fine with that. Are there any pics of the door panels done in the CLD? Seems everyone on the forum likes something different.

Nah, and I'm a good 4 months from doing the rest of my doors to take pictures of me doing it.

Nothing really complicated, just like putting a big sticker on, then using the roller to make sure it's stuck to the panel well.

Worst part was putting the door back together afterward.
