buying jl soon need some opinion

So i have been researching a while on what subwoofer I want to buy. I decided to go with the JL 12W7 and will power it with a JL HD 750 amp. I heard the 1000 1 amp will not make much of a difference and on JL's website 750 watts is optimum for 12W7. I searched for the HD 750 amp on the forum but it seems like no one seems to be using it or have bought it. I wonder why? The box I will be housing the sub will be the zenclosure 12". And is this the right amp kit to wire the amp and sub? its 1500 watt amp kit.

thanks and give me your input on this!

Are you running a DD Headunit or factory stereo? That JL HD 750 should work fine. The wiring kit should be fine as well. Depending on your deck/stereo system, you will either need a set of RCA's since theyre not included with the wiring kit, or you'll need to splice into your factory wiring. Might want to make sure the W7 fits into the Zenclosures enclosure too.

Just did some homework for you. Sorry to break it to you but that sub won't fit in any of their boxes. It's to deep by 1". I'm not sure if you can order the cutout hole in a different diameter due to the ackward dimensions of W7's . I would look at the 12W6v2 instead of the W7 anyway. The HD series amps are great, possibly the best of the class D small chassis amps available.

that speaker requires 1.375 ft^3 the displacement of the speaker is .14 so you would need a box that is basically 1.5 cubic feet. the z enclosure is too small. the z enclosure 12 box is the rt size for the 10w7, they could probably make it as a ten box for you.

you can use line level inputs or buy a clean sweep or similar product.

So i was looking around and searching for other boxes people used for their 12w7. And this guy had his 12w7 fit in the zenclosures. https://g35driver.com/forums/archive...-1000-1-a.html Isn't the depth 1" too small. Well im still looking for a box and want to keep my spare so powerwedge is out of the catergory. help a fella out!

If you run a JL amp you will not need a converter or cleansweep. JL amps will accept the signal from the Headunit. If you have any solding skills then it's all good and you can add some RCA leads to the factory harness.

The guy with that box said it was custom. I would contact Zenclosures and see what they can do for you on the cut-out diameter and the depth. They might be able to double stack the front baffle to make it 1.5" or something? I wouldn't trust 3/4" MDF to support a 40lbs. sub anyway!

If u dont care bout space, go ported. Those zenclosure boxes usually choke the hell out of subs.

if you're gonna do a W7, do the 1000/1 over the 750HD, it will be fine

I would order wire from www.knukonceptz.com/

an amp kit should be measured by current not wattage

+1

Especially if you're doing a sealed enclosure, you'll want the 1000/1. (or another 1000w RMS amp.

So you guys think I should get the 1000 1 amp? Would my car be able to handle it? With stock alternator? I heard it needs more power than what the stock alternator can give is this true? And I'm still looking for a sealed box. No luck finding one that fits the dimensions of the 12w7. Thanks for the help btw. I want my coupe to be slapping lol.

I have one of these for sale since I upgraded to a DD deck. Let me know if youre interested. This is an RCA to speaker wire by JL Audio and has color coded wires to make it easy for you to splice into your bose wiring.
