You could prolly find it on eBay.

Search for JDM double din

Search for this item number: Item #: 280566088334

I am just not sure if having a nav matters for an '05

Yes, having the right one matters for '05-07s. You can find pictures and an explanation in my shopping list.

ojeez, I have sent a couple e-mails off to places that claim to specialize in JDM parts to see if they can be a reputable source for people on the board here. I also currently have a brother-in-law in Japan, who said he can get them, but the price he was quoted by the dealer was somewhere around $350 (they quoted him in yen and he used head-math for it) just for the trim, not including the a/c controls. If you're willing to spend about $400 for that part alone shipped, I can probably help make it happen. If you want help modifying the non-nav JDM piece, I can impart all the knowledge I gained modifying my own (so you won't make the same mistakes I did).

I'm a few thousand miles too far from my car to take pics. If you pay close attention in the video of me showing the Bose working, you can see my imperfect work. Definitely would be better looking if I had my dremel from the start.

You have to dremel the plastic off first.

My issues were that my dremel was buried, so I tried using a combination of kitchen knife, pliers, razor blades and such before going through my stuff in storage to get the dremel.

If you dremel the plastic off without damaging the aluminum at all, and make sure there's a clean edge, then fold all the aluminum at once, instead of using your hands doing an inch at a time, and then trim any excess aluminum at the corners, you'll end up with much better results than I did. Learn from my mistakes.

Okay, I've got a source, never bought anything from them, but they say they can get it. If anyone does contact this supplier post your experience so that we can give them a thumbs-up or not on being able to get the part needed.

Thank you for your inquiry and your detailed explanations on the Skyline 250 dash piece.

Through our suppliers, the price that we can give to you for Nissan Part #68260-7W010 is $330 + shipping from Japan. Shipping will be approximately $20 via EMS Express Mail which will take about 4 business days to get to the destination.

If you purchase multiple quantities at once, I can negotiate a lower price.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thanks,

Nope. Hasn't been available for years. I contacted several distributors specializing in JDM parts, even had a brother-in-law stationed in Japan try and get one through a Nissan dealership. They don't exist, except for the ones already purchased and installed.

*sad panda*

Does it look really off when you bend it? I hope it won't be too noticeable since I'll be wrapping it in carbon fiber vinyl.

Right now, I'm thinking that cutting it may be better than trying to bend it. It bent ok my first try, but while practicing with my original non-navi unit a few weeks ago, when I tried bending it, the adhesive gave on the front, and it wouldn't re-stick very well at all. I think you're better off cutting it and then just smoothing the metal out instead of trying for the bend.

I'll document my next attempt, as I believe somebody's going to let me have a go on their in the near future.
