You need 2 amps

1 for sub(s) and 1 for speakers

You need to amp no matter what.

That should be taken care of first before you think about subs.

That jl amp is 400 only because it's tiny.

You're gonna get the same exact power with the mb quart yet you want to spend triple the amount for the same thing because it's jl?

About the speakers..let me explain.

Speakers play the biggest factor in any sound system since they play the majority of the frequency range.

Subs? not so much..they only need to play from 80hz down to 30hz

Speakers need to play from 80 alllll the way up to 20khz.

You want to pay the most attention to those since they're doing the majority of the work. unamped speakers with a sub in the trunk=****ty system

makes sense and ok so an mb quart? which will power my sub just the same?
and no idc about jl amp i just really like the 10w6v2 sub.....that a decent price for one?
alright will definitely be looking to get speaker amp too thanks for the help and what kind of amp will i need? watts? channels? or anything else i would get that one you suggested but i might not be able to get this system "right" away might take a couple weeks cuz im picking up my G this friday or saturday oh and if im getting the amp for a speaker does this mean ill have to be gettting a new battery or maybe alternator? cuz with only one amp didnt have to really worry about that

Look up..i listed everything

The jl is nice..it's just not a good sub for your exact setup.

The jl is up there with the image dynamics idq is terms of sound quality and the sundown was a better performer in sound quality and spl compared to the idq.

So, it's better than both the jl and the id.

so you suggest the image dynamics over the jbl? sorry just trying to just get a list of what you suggest but what im looking for too
maybe the dynamics with the jl sub and im confused....your suggestion a mb quart? just idk what that is but ok...so the sundown for the sub? 1000W is much more than id be needing though and what about the battery and the alternator with these two amps instead of just one

No.

For your situation, i recommend the sundown over both the idq and w6v2

and the mb quart amp over the jl amp.

This is how it'll go

The mb quart does 600 x 1. that'll be used to power the sub

The sundown is a 4 channel that'll be bridged down to 2 channels to power the front speakers.

It does 320 x 2 bridged.

oh ok sorry was just confused there for a second and which one was the mb quart amp???
and which front speakers? you still think the dynamics? also why do you think the 12" sundown instead??? besides the pricing or is that the only reason because if it is then i would rather pay the extra 200 for a nicer sub but i like the advice on the cheaper amps cuz that definitely will save me some money instead of jl

Because the 12 fit right into your budget.

I would've went for 2 8's on the 600 but they exceeded your budget so the 12 was chosen
