question about connecting rca to bose harness

so i got a jl 1000.1 v2 04 coupe with bose. i dont understand how to connect the blue harness to the amp via rca cables. i read the diy sticky how to connect a sub and i dont know how to splice the harness cables to rca. i went to an audio shop and they said that to splice the harness and rca and solder them together wont give such a good connection and they recommended to get a loc to do that. they had 2 loc. 1 had the remote connection for $49 and the other loc did not have the remote connection but was for $5. so which road is better?

The JL doesn't need a LOC. It can take speaker-level inputs, and you're better off tapping the wires before the bose amplifier of suck messes with the audio signal anyway, so there's 2 reasons not to install using an LOC.

To tap it, just either cut an RCA cable in half and connect the wires (soldering does, in fact give you a damn good connection when done right) and connect those RCAs to the line level input on the amp.

Alright Fosho for the help. Do you have a pic of the RCA soldered to the harness. So I can get a sense o how it is done right.

For the remote does it matter if it soldered to the positive or negative RCA

Uh, no pictures, it looks like wires soldered together. Use your imagination.

Which remote? Remote amp turn on? You connect that to the amp power signal wire, not an audio signal.

Here are some pictures I took of when when I was installing my gear. The wires you need to tap into are the one's in the picture with the outer shell, with the 2 conductor's inside with the shielded wire.

Just make sure you go positive to positive and negative to negative. I made my own RCA harness using Gepco 6180ez which has a shield wire in it also. I soldered the wires together but didn't take pictures of it because, well it's soldering! If you don't feel comfortable with wiring you should just take it to someone who does.
