Speaker Upgrade

So I decided I want to upgrade my 4 speakers. Currently, I have the BOSE Premium sound system in my car. I want to upgrade all 4 speakers to component speakers but not put in an additional amp/sub. To be honest, I don't really know much about car audio. Can anyone recommend me some good component speakers that will give enough bass (I listen to rap/hip hop mainly) while getting enough power from my stock amp? Budget is about $400 total for 4 speakers.

Thanks in advance.

Your proposed plan sucks, and $400 isn't enough to substantially upgrade much.

You're wasting your time and money if you only upgrade the speakers without doing the amp. You're also wasting money putting components in the rear instead of coaxials.

$200 into an amp + $200 into new front components and not upgrading the rear is a better use of $400.

The bose amp is just crap on top of crap. Do a quick search on this forum if you want more in-depth tales of it's suckiness.

Read up on all the failed headunits here as well, before you put $400 into upgrading anything that will be silent when your factory headunit burns out.

So, for actual recommendations for rap speakers (in anticipation for an overpowered sub) these components:

and this amp:

Run the stock bose speakers in the rear if you want to keep a rear fill, but they'd probably make the overall sound worse than just running that amp in 2-channel mode to the fronts and the rear sub/6x9s until you get a sub.
