Has anyone here used audiovox remote start? I am thinking about getting one, and I assumed Viper was the best but the guy I know that works at Zeibart says they wont intsall viper due to many problems with them. Is this true? Or is dude to feeding me some bs because audiovox is cheaper? Here is the model they want to install. Thanks 4 the help in advance.

an alarm or remote start is only as good as the installer
the thing you lose with lower end brands is range on the remote start
Vipers claims of 2000' are exaggerated. I tried to start my car in the check out line at wal mart and it would never start
Lower end brands are just as bad, if not worse.
Antenna placement of your remote start antenna is very important also

I used to install them and Viper and had minimal issues with both. That was 5+ years ago. DEI has had major issues with their new line of remotes, but they seem to be worked out now.
I have a Clifford 50.7x on my truck and the range is ridiculous - I actually wish I could reduce it. I accidentally remote start the truck from time to time by bending down with the keys in my pocket. I would be more then happy with a solid 1000' range then what they are selling these days.
