JL Audio W3v3

I just picked up a 10 inch W3v3. Looking at the specs, it says I need 500 watts with a nominal independence of 4 OHM. Would a JL Audio 500/1 amp give out enough power the sub? If not, any recommendations on what amps would be good for this sub?

Thanks

Would the JL 500/1 be over killing it? Can I get away with a JL 250/1?

It's a 500 watt sub and you're asking if 500 is too much.

No.

The 250 would also be fine.

If you're running sealed, I'd highly recommend doing the 500/1 over the 250/1.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I'm going to go sealed, as I like SQ over loud bass. Am I am able to get any 10 inch box off of websites like ebay, or should I build a custom box specifically for the sub. I found a ebay listing for a 10 inch sealed box for 25 bucks, which is pretty cheap. What you guys think?

JL Audio recommends 18inch (W) x 11 inc (H) x 9 Inch (Depth) if that matters.

Thanks guys

It'll be fine, it'll look stupid in the trunk and take up a lot of room, but sound-wise it should be ok.
