Bose amp or HU amp?
Bose amp or HU amp?
So I installed an aftermarket HU in my car not too long ago. Didnt really pay attention to ordering it and the system runs off the HU's preamps to the factory Bose amps, which would be fine but it doesn't get that loud.
I'm guessing either the HU's preamps (4v) are less than what the factory unit drives the amp with or the Bose amp is remotely controlled volume from the old HU.
Anyways it doesn't get that loud and I'm wondering if I'll be gaining or losing sound quality if I wire the new HU directly to the factory Bose speakers. Any thoughts guys? Cause I won't do it if I'll lose quality. Quality>Loudness

I'm guessing you're running and 03 or 04 and didn't follow my shopping guide.
Buy a PAC ROEM-NIS2 to replace the wiring harness you're using, your volume will be back to normal.
The HU's preamps are actually much higher than the Bose's (about 1v), it's just that they're not balanced inputs, so it sees most of that signal as noise.
