Re: Power Inverter for PS2
I was having some issues with this last month. Sony lists the wattage of the PS2 as 79watts. I had a 200watt inverter (cheap one i got at Kmart) and it kept shutting down b/c of over-wattage.
I was told by a few people that most inverters put out less than half of what they're rated for under normal conditions in the car. I switched to a 400watt inverter (and put it in the trunk b/c it has little cooling fans that were noisy as hell) and now have no problems.
Just this week i switched to the newer PS2 (much smaller and less wattage) and now the 400w inverter is overkill but mine also has a second outlet to plug other stuff in too.
