My Audio & Video redone by John at LTL

Look at what John at LTL did for my car. He changed out my 2 JL Audio 8" subs for 2 Memphis 10" subs and totally redid my trunk area.

He plexiglased the amp and speakers and added blue neon in the box that is painted the same color as my car.

Now for the "kudigraw" probaly wrong spelling but what the hell you get my meaning.

Look at how that monitor looks factory!! He gutted my stock radio so I did not need a $300 air conditioner controller. Thanks John

Look he even painted the rings around my vents to match my console

He even installed a backup camera. He installed a switch so I can have the camera turned on while I am driving if I want.
Here the AVIC-N1 is being used for the camera screen.

Here it is being used for NAVI.
I can have the DVD image on both screens if I like.

He installed the DVD player under the cup holder in the back seat forgot to get pics, will post later.

pm jontheinstaller for any questions regarding installation

Re: My Audio & Video redone by John at LTL

Thanks guys!!! It sounds awesome also!

John custom made a box so I could get my NOS bottle out with the remote opener connected.

Night shot almost a halloween theme (Jackolantern like)

The amp is in cased in it's own plexiglass box, in the plexiglass sub box.

Left side.

Right side.

Here is the DVD/MP3 player installed.

Ed, John gutted the radio so I could use the space without having to buy a dual din conversion wi th the $300 air conditioner module. He is just using the board that the controls run thru. The screen as you say bulges out because John molded the frame it came with in to the console. The monitor normally has buttons on the top. It has a remote so I didn't need them. He also did it to angle it up for better viewing. Sorry can't make Mossy Performance show. I will be at thier grand opening on the 13th.

I agree with Ed on the screen comment. If you are going that big and custom with the system I think it would be worth spending the $200 for the ac controller to get that flush and stealth look. Plus losing the whole radio unit from that space gives you a great spot for the avic brain to be hidden away.

It still looks good and I am not knocking it, just sharing an opinion. John did a great job!

Looks good. I just had a DVD nav unit installed myself, but went the way of the double DIN kit. It is always interesting to see variations of how an aftermarket nav unit can be pulled off.

Re: My Audio & Video redone by John at LTL

lol hi im gonna spend $1500 to mod my dash but i am too cheap to pay $200 for an AC controller....

you should have gotten the AC controller or the double-din kit, it would have been CHEAPER and LOOKS BETTER

your dash is totally jacked up right now, sorry to say, i dont think anyone here likes it.... monitor buldging out and AVIC-N1 sitting too high (its a touch-screen and should be mounted in arm's reach)

sorry to bring you down but your console mods could have been executed better...

who to blame? the sponsor? the owner of the car?

love the suicide doors though how much is a set of brackets go for these days?

Re: My Audio & Video redone by John at LTL

Rambo, you missed this entirely about the mod on my dash. It had nothing to do with being cheap. If I would have bought the AC controller. I still would have had John install it the monitor same way. It is tilted up on the bottom for viewing. He molded the frame that the screen sits in to the dash, you have to realize this particular screen had functional buttons on top. The way John did it to my liking he completely gutted the radio. The only thing that is behind it is a board for the cables to connect. Now for your comment about "you should have gotten the AC controller or the double-din kit, it would have been CHEAPER and LOOKS BETTER" That screen would not have fit. if you were to realize this. My dash is not jacked at all infact EVRYONE who has seen it has said "THAT"S SICK MAN" I don't think you have the capacity to speak for everyone on this forum. Even if you did your opinion is just that YOURS!!!! I had John mount the AVIC-N1 in the cubby totally custum so it would be in arm's reach with out having to look down. For your information it is in the spot that the stock NAVI is installed. The hinges are $2295 retail.

I welcome your comments.

Re: My Audio & Video redone by John at LTL

Rudy, It has nothing to with AC controller that is merely a benefit of not having to buy one with the radio gutted. When John molded the frame that the screen sits in. It looked like a dual din dash. The dual din dash would not have fit this screen. Rudy, you know I had already lost the whole radio unit from when John installed it at your place. You also know where he installed the AVIC-N1 brain. It is totally hidden. So that wasn't an issue.

Thanks Justin, The ashtray remained the same original titanium color to match the shifter pod and door inserts along with the beverage holder top. I could have had them painted. I wanted to give it contrast.

Yes Ed, John did gut the radio there is just a board there for the cable for power behind the screen. There is no radio or bracketry for one in the car.
