after i hooked my headunit, my "service engine soon" light came on. anyone experience this? i had my battery disconnected for a few days. could this be why?

also, i started to hear this high pitched noise. it's hard to explain ...but it's similar to the sound that comes from old vcr's and tv's. i can't locate where it's coming from either...

 

umm... are you pulling too much power from the alternator? i dont know, seems like an odd situation, i'd have a private mechanic look at it...

Perhaps alternator whine? Would suggest rechecking/relocating grounds. G/L

does the whining sound like it mimics your engine speed?? if so you might wanna upgrade your cables or check your grounds, there may be some interference.
