Ok, I kbow this has probably been stated or asked a million times but i cant find it on forum. Why cant you just buy something liek the kenwood DVD changer and hook it up to play dvds thorugh your stock navigation TV unit? This is the dvd changer i am referring to....Kenwood DVD

You can. Some people have. The only downside is now you have an extra piece of equipment taking up space in your car. Some people think that's fine, others would prefer to find a solution to use the stock Nav DVD player, if possible.

No one's tried taking the stock DVD player out. I wouldn't recommend it. You'd lose all the builtin Nav's functionality, and those Nav buttons on your center console would become useless. If you want to go that route, you'd be better off starting with a G35 w/o Nav, or you've just wasted $2k.

maybe the wiring harness can be configured to make the buttons work with the new unit. That's if it uses the same connection. No matter what I don't see that 2k as a waste, I'll just think of it as a 2g wiring job w/ a smooth fitting hide away LCD wide screen [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img].
