07 Navigation question...

Went out tonight in my brides 07. Headed to a wake and not quite sure of the route. Does the Mav lock when the car is in motion? Stopped at a light, tossed it in neutral and we were able to work it till the light turned green and we were honked at!

Is this how it's set up??? Can it be overidden????

It goes by vehicle speed. If you're stopped you can do whatever. In motion, your options are quite limited.

Bypasses for this safety feature are not allowed on this board.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess we can disagree on the safety feature though. The assumption is being made that any attempt to touch the Nav is being done by the driver, in some cases correct, in others not.

This is probably the biggest complaint I have with my 08 G35. That and how anemic the voice commands are when fords have over 10,000 commands.

I don't disagree, I just abide by the rules of the board. Anytime I'm doing a trip that requires the GPS, it's usually the passenger entering the information. But my aftermarket GPS can take voice commands for destinations while on the move anyway.
