Android and mini USB integration for G35

Is there an alternative Android adapter or integration with the G35? I'm trying to decide if I want to go the iPad/iPhone combination of tethering to my phone or if I want to go with my Samsung Galaxy S/Samsung Galaxy tablet combination. I'm thinking I want the android integration in the car instead of the Apple OS. Thoughts on this solution?

Does anything interface with android?

I suppose it might work as a USB mass storage device for some sort of adapter, but if you're looking for any sort of ease of use, iOS devices are the way to go.

most android devices work if you use them as a mass storage drive.

Yeah, I know most android devices work as USB mass storage, but that's not really interfacing with anything android about it. I meant, that there's no headunit or device that I've come across (granted, I haven't looked hard) that reads metadata or the music database from the android devices to make it any more useful than just plugging a USB device instead.

This is the first stereo to actually run on an Android OS

http://www.parrot.com/usa/products/b...arrot-asteroid

With its Android OS Asteroid will be able to run a variety of smart phone applications, as well as some developed specifically for in-car use. Parrot has already demonstrated Android apps for locating the lowest gasoline prices, closest parking, and even speed cameras.

I love that it has a little iPod icon right there on it.

But does it use an android-equipped smartphone or other media devices as anything more than a USB mass storage device?

It actually runs on the Android operating system. You can actually install specific apps on the stereo itself. It has 100% full intergration with other Android devices.

I would do this but I'd like for it to be portable, stand based and head up instead of heads down. Something like a Proclip mount but still integrated into a head unit. Maybe I could do a double DIN and a proclip tablet mount.

The reason I want a tablet is for portablility and also the range of apps including GPS navigation, cameras, music, video, games....everything on one device.
