@Wrathernaut

There's prolly about a billion @Wrathernaut threads on here but meh.

Today while out looking for a place and getting quotes for installing my double din kit. One place disputed the PAC ROEMNIS2 and said that I didn't need it. Even though I had a bose system in my car "I can still run a normal wire harness, and go in straight through. With the PAC all Im going to get is alot of excess noise". So he "recommended" a wire harness of his own. Seemed kind of skeptical to me so I wanted to come here and ask you or anyone else who has more knowledge than me in car audio.

i installed a double din a few weeks ago and didn't use the PAC and went with the Scosche NN03B / NN03 and it worked fine. I think it's like $4 on amazon.

Well, if you're putting a new amp in, you can use the "normal" wire harness and be just fine, since you're not trying to interface with the Bose amp.

Some headunits have no problem with it - both the times I've used the "normal" harness it's worked fine - but enough have problems (including people installing the same headunit in the same year vehicle with the Bose amp) that I'd rather recommend the unit that has had 100% success, rather than have people buy, install and use the "normal" harness, only to face hours of frustration when it doesn't work, followed by removal of the headunit and installation of the ROEM-NIS2.

Let it be known that nobody has ever reported more noise with the ROEM-NIS2, but many have posted problems regarding noise and low volume who didn't use it.

Your installer is certainly welcome to try it, but if it comes back with very low volume and/or little or no bass from the headunit, I wouldn't let him charge you anything extra but the price of the ROEM-NIS2 (~$40) to fix the problem, since he was using parts contrary to expert advice and your recommendation.

If you check my DDin install guide's resources, you'll see the video of my Z110BT working just fine with the "normal" harness, so I know that it can work, but I've had enough people claim to have installed theirs identically and had it not work at all.
