Need Help with AC/Radio for 2005 coupe

Ok my car came with factory Nav which I got rid of when I installed my carpc. I've recently decided to go back to stock (non nav set up) and when I reconnected a factory radio from another 05 coupe nothing seems to work. The radio does not light up and my AC stays on (no control). I have checked my fuses and they are fine, I have tried another radio from another 05 coupe and still get the same results. When I connect the cd ribbon I can here the cd changer shifting but nothing happens, Factory amp is wired in and radio fuse is fine. Any ideas?

Sounds like the classic fried radio/circuit board problem. Considering how common they fail, I wouldn't doubt that you just had two bad ones back-to-back, or if you were using the same circuit board/face for both, that's your problem right there.

With the high failure rate, I certainly wouldn't discount them both being failed.

This happened to me when I took my car apart to wrap it in carbon fiber. I flipped the ribbon that goes into the stock head-unit and it worked again. Not sure what's the science behind it but it worked for me.
