4080 Style Sub (Now Mysosinc / Boxology) - Perfect Sub Enclosure!

Hey all,

I just wanted to give a shout out I guess. I don't normally bother to review things but they were so great to work with I need to point it out

I recently purchased an 06 G35 Sedan and immediately hated the BOSE system. Had the new system up and running before my temp tags expired

After doing some research on this and other G35ish forums I read a lot about something called the 4080 sub which used to be produced by company A and I guess one of the members decided to go start another company. This box is awesome. It's perfectly matched to the sub and looks great:

Boxology Website: http://www.mysosinc.com/boxology_index.html

It was a little on the what I considered "pricey" side - but after looking at other custom boxes it's pretty equivalent and I can't stress how nice the build quality and customer service were. I accidentally told them that I had the full size spare so they sent me that box (I was wrong) - so they fedex'd me an add-on piece (on their dime) and now it's perfect (2.5" height difference in the trunk).

Anyway - my 2 cents. Excellent buy give Nicholas a shout (mysosinc@gmail.com).

Cheers,

Jeremy

Amazed that it's a 4080's style box I was sad when the company went out of business. Thank god that this company made a replica

It's not a replica; Nicolas is apparently one of the founders of 4080 and went off to do his own thing. It's made with the 4080 jigs and all that jazz. I had to track all this info down when I was doing my "which enclosure to buy" reading.

Finally found it, this is the box I've been looking for lately but have not been able to find anything other than the zenclosure box which is a little to big and bulky looking for my looking. Thanks guys.

Yeah, I love it - takes no real "usable" room just sits in the side of the trunk I'd recommend getting that Image Dynamics sub for sure. It's perfectly matched. Whether you get it from Nicolas or not - bit he'll give you a deal and send the box pre-loaded and ready to go.

I was thinking something along the lines of JL W6 10" but I'll have to check into it. Thanks.

Yeah I think the ID is a bit expensive - more than I was originally going to spend anyway - but I'm glad I did.

Where did you find the information about the sub on the site, I can't seem to locate it anywhere on there.

Well; I had the same sub as you in mind when I was ordering this box. But I called Nicolas to ask him what he thought for a sub in that box given my amp setup. He mentioned he had the ID sub laying around and that it was pretty much a perfect match for the box and he'd give me a deal and send it pre-loaded (I think it was ~200). So he sold me on it over the phone really

You can call and ask him; I can't offer my opinion on the JL sub (I've had one I and I liked it in another car) - but I can swear by this ID.

Yeah I'll have to do some more hunting around as recently I had a JLW7 in the JL H.O. box and got kinda accustomed to the sounds quality and output levels associated with that setup. Thanks for the information.

Looks good but what makes this the "perfect" sub enclosure?
