About to buy entire system.. Feedback needed
I intend on buying everything this week coming, although I might start with some things (ddin) as early as tomorrow. I'd posted a while back ago, asking for suggestions, and I've changed a few things since... here are my current plans:
system will include:
Alpine 9835
(Double Din mod)
Adire Audio Koda 6.5" Components
Cadence Q3000 (100wx2 rms) Amp (already own)
JL 10W7
(justice box)
JL 500/1 (500wx1 rms)
Right now in my Nissan Sentra I have a Pioneer 9400 head unit, infiniti kappa 60.5CSs, Adire Shiva 12in, 2x Cadence Q3000s (i will use one for the G). The sentra has no midbass whatsoever, doesnt get all that loud, and the sub sounds disapointing... I'm hoping the system that I have planned for the G will be vastly improved, particularly in those key areas.
I intend on sticking with a fronts-only setup because:
1. i dont think that too much is gained by having back speakers if the fronts are of sufficient quality.
2. i dont want to take out everything in the back to install speakers back there, unless its absolutely necessary.
3. if i find its really and truly "necessary" in order to have a good sound system, i can always go back and add speakers in the back later.
Anyway if anyone has any thoughts on this before I go buy everything it would be much appreciated!!

Looks like you're off to a good start. You'll be amazed with the amount of mid bass on those adire koda 6.5s, the mids and tweeters are ok. You can also check out the alpine 177r and the RE comp set, there's a good review on them on http://forum.elitecaraudio.com/showt...threadid=97169 . To get the most midbass out of your stereo, you need to seal your doors and sound deaden them as well. Take a look at my install, it took some time, but it's worth the trouble. Don't worry about rear speakers, they're really for the rear passengers and can throw off your soundstage.

1. how hard and or time consuming is it to lay dynamat like products on the doors? trunk?
2. does the car sound significantly quieter after the sound deadening? (less road noise, etc?)
3. any suggestions on wiring kits that i should buy? or other parts that i might need?
4. as a novice, but with the help of some people who've installed car stereos before (although never in a g), do you think i can do what i want in two 8hr days ( one weekend)? or should i try to wait until i have more time free?
5. how do you like the 9835? why did you get a dsp too?
i was looking at your site. nice job! a few questions:
1. how hard and or time consuming is it to lay dynamat like products on the doors? trunk?
The trunk is really easy, just a couple clips and all the panels come out. The door is a a little tricky. There's was a DIY on how to remove the front doors and there are about 10plus 10mm bolts you have to undo to get to the inner panel. Takes me about 2 hours per door, since I didn't want to cover the panel part and I had to cut circles for the plexi glass.
2. does the car sound significantly quieter after the sound deadening? (less road noise, etc?)
I would say a little quieter, I have this slight air leak coming from my windows that I've always had since I had the car. The door feels pretty solid now, shuts like a mercedes. If you want it to be extremely quiet, I would do the firewall, headliner, floor pan, but it's too much of a pain in the *** to attept for a minor improvement.
3. any suggestions on wiring kits that i should buy? or other parts that i might need?
knukonceptz has good quality wire for a decent price. I don't reccomend the speaker wires though, since it's hard to work with (looks like 8 guage wire, it was a pain to go through the doors)

I would wait until you have more time, it took me about 20 hours to just wire up the amp, speaker wires, dynamat (doors, rear seat section, trunk), custom brackets for my amp and processor. Our Gs have so many rattles that I had to take apart my panels at least 2-3 times to get rid of them.
5. how do you like the 9835? why did you get a dsp too?
I like the 9835 alot. It matches the color of the interior buttons. Even though the display is dimmer then other units, you can still see it during the day and at night the display doesn't look out of place like some color displays. I got the DSP for EQ purposes. I got a great deal on the unit and needed a eq. I figure the unit would hold it's value when I sell the car in a couple years.
You can IM or e-mail me if you need anymore help on your install.

thanks for your help!
justice prob wont be able to help me with a box right now.. what could i expect from the above setup with a 10w6v2 instead of a 10w7? would the 500/1 still be good to drive it? or should i consider stepping down to something else like my cadence q3000 (300w)?
