I have an AVH P2300DVD. I hooked up a reverse camera with a noise filter amp. Power is the reverse tail lights. When I want to use the back up camera, I have to manually go into AV mode and also press my e-brake a few times to get the image to show.

I was wondering if theres a way to set it up so that it will automatically show up on the screen and not require my e-brake toggle. Of course I can set up a bypass if needed, but it's not something I wanted to do since I just want the reverse cam feature.

 

There should be an input on the back for the use of a backup camera (if that unit has that feature) The AV input is for aux audio video input such as a dvd player..

 

i think there should be a white/purple wire that came with your headunit. that wire should be connected to your reverse wire so it will send a signal when you put the car in reverse. and make sure the video signal is plugged into the right line. if you need to manually switch to av, it means its connected wrong.
