Sound deadening

Looking for recommendations on which brand/type and if anyone can hook me up with a trusted vendor/site they use for online ordering. Haven't used anything but Dynamat but that was 10+ years ago now so I'm sure there's better out there. What's everyone been using and liking lately?

Thanks!

Dynamat is trash.

Go to www.sounddeadenershowdown.com and get your stuff from there. Best product and service and very good prices. There's no cart because the guy that runs it likes to make sure you're getting what you need for what you want to do.

Second Skin's Damplifier Pro isn't bad either.

I have used Hush Mat on two cars and I am happy with it. It is a bit cheaper than the other brands I looked at.

I wouldnt say dynamat is trash, there is just equal or better stuff for the price

I like second skin best. Price is a little higher than others but thats because it works well.

Rammat BTXII is around $100 for 36 sq ft
Dynmat is $130-$140 for 36sq ft on ebay
Second skin damplifier is ~$70 shipped for 20sq ft

When there's better for cheaper, that's throwing money away. Throwing money away = trash.

I've used both raamat and second skin....Raamat is alright, second skin would be my first choice if I was doing sound deadening again

Stick with butyl based over asphalt based and your car along with body will thank you. Second skin is amazing stuff but little pricey and don't skip the luxury liner noise barrier along with enclosing the doors properly / baffling them.

NOT THE PRODUCTS YOU USE BUT THE QUALITY OF THE INSTALL THAT MAKES IT SOUNDS GOOD

^ looks like going overboard on vibration dampener, you only need about 25% of the surface covered with vibration dampener, after that you're getting greatly diminished returns from the amount of dampener.

The luxury liner though, that's the kind of stuff that's worth making a complete barrier with.
