Need help with fuses
Is it okay to have an 80A fuse from the power wire while the amp is only 60A?
The amp is an Alpine MRP-m500 and the other original fuses (both 60A) wouldn't break but ended up not giving and power to my amp
I've changed my grounds and my remote and everything but now my sub blew, it was a Kicker CVR 12
could it have been a bad sub (it was free
)
Anyone can recommend what a good sub would be? (500 rms, 1.8 ported box) And also if 80A fuse at power while the 60A fuse at the amp is fine.
Thanks!

It's fine, the fuse on the power wire isn't to protect your equipment per se, it's more there to keep the car from burning if the wire accidentally grounds out while allowing enough power to go through to power your amps.
It depends on your wire size.
A 10ga wire can safely handle 60A while an 8ga can handle 100A (http://www.the12volt.com/info/recwirsz.asp)
If you have 8ga or bigger you're fine, if you have 10ga or smaller you need a smaller fuse to prevent the risk of catching your car on fire.
