Time for a new radar?

Time for a new radar?
What's up guys? I bought an escort 9500i (red) a little over 2 years ago. Best investment ever in my opinion as it's saved me from numerous tickets. Recently however, I dont know if technology is changing or the cops are using different guns, but the radar hasn't been doing it's job. I haven't gotten any tickets thank God, but some close calls. Today for example, I was coming over a hill and cop car was on a side street and I could clearly see him sitting in the car aiming the radar gun towards us, but my radar didn't make a peep. Happened to me the other day as well by a motorcycle cop. However, in another situation, it alerted me to a laser alert and a few seconds later, I noticed a cop car pulled over clocking. I don't know if my K, Ka frequencies are going bad or they're using something else now. Do I need to update my radar via the web or maybe just get a new one altogether. I've hears about radar/laser jammers and diffusers. Would these be better than getting a radar altogether? I'm located in GA by the way....

9500i is decent but you need to keep couple things in mind. It is a radar detector not cop detector. If the cop does not have the gun turned on and emitting radar by squeezing trigger or using auto mode then your radar detector will not detect radar. The other thing is laser is being used more and more and you do not get enough warning to slow down but just a heads up to tell you that a ticket is coming your way.
Get the laser interceptor along with escort redline or valentine 1 radar. Mate that with a Cheetah GPS mirror and some veil coating and you will have a 100% bulletproof setup unlike our VQ engines.

I'm in the Atlanta area as well and majority of the cops around here are using laser now. I plan on getting a Laser Interceptor setup within the next few months; I would recommend doing the same. I drive on I-285 daily (55mph limit but everyone goes 65+) so I feel like I need it.
Yea, 285 and 85 are pretty much loaded with cops every 10 miles or so. It's definitely an investment I'll have to make since I do a ton of driving. Do you have a radar or are you just going to use the interceptor standalone?

I was looking to get a Passport 9500ix radar detector but since almost all the cops around here use laser (4/4 of my last tickets were with laser) I think it's a better idea to get the laser jammer first. I do plan on getting radar detector eventually but that will be a couple months after the laser jammer.

did you ever get laser jammers?
i just installed a escort 9500ci on my g last labor day.
it has been great but unfortunately still have not encountered a laser hit. im in VA so laser isnt as common as other places
think primarily that is due to the fact that radar detectors are illegal and LEO's dont have to use laser to beat the detector.
almost had a laser hit about 3 mos ago but the leo tagged the rabbit i was chasing and had pulled out before i got in his range.
i have tested it against an Kustom Prolaser III laser gun and it worked flawless and jammed to gun
although this is the easiest gun to jam according to the guys of lidar.. . but it is also the most commonly issued gun in the police community.
