mp3 cds
#16
Last night on the way home after picking up my 2005 Sedan from the dealer, I was pleasently surprised to discover the MP3 emblem on the Stereo. I wasn't aware that it had MP3 functionality, so I had already started to research the Ipod hoookup scenero. Since my car is a lease, I really didn't feel like digging into the dash, so now I guess I won't have to do anything. I guess they added mp3 functionality when they took away the useless tape deck.
Yes it does support folders.
It's not as nice as my Pany head that I had in my last car as the ID3 Tags are not scrolling... but you can hit the display button to manually scroll.
I do like how the manual warns that it may not be able to read CDR or CDRW CD's properly, but later says it supports MP3 CD's. I guess its just a CYA in case you buy chep or unsupported CDR's.

2005 Stereo
Can do Mp3's, can read folders, can read ID3 Tags.
You can have it display Folder name, or file name, or artist name, or song name.
That is achieved by holding down the display button until the options pop up.
I've been using Mp3 cd's since day one. It's GREAT! no need to get an Ipod to do all this.
Integrated into stock stereo, 6 mp3 cd's, 1,000+ songs. I think that's enough for one car ride.

How to burn MP3's
Quick question for you guys... How do you burn MP3's? I used Nero and just dumped the MP3's in the root of the CD but the G35 said it was unreadable. I then used Apple iTunes and it seemed to work, but I'm not a big fan of iTunes so I'd like to burn it with Nero or other app. Is there some trick to this?
Thanks,
Jonathan
