Kicker subs defy laws of physics?

http://www.kicker.com/dvc_wiring

so i was looking at a solution for a problemon my stereo (il search then make a thread if i dont find anything on it ), but on my search i found this poster on some TampaRacing forums that said he could wire 3 subs to 1 ohm using DVC 2 ohm, or 2 ohm using DVC 4 ohm.

now i didnt pay too much attention in physics... but i do know my math, and there is no easy way to make 3 subs get equal power and have 1 ohm resistance using standard resistance voice coils.

So take a look at kicker's wiring diagram, and please tell me how their 3 sub configuration works.

I mean, they could possibly put variable resistances in? to make it work somehow? or mabye 1.333 ohms is close enough to 1 ohm to make it stable?

Or are kickers engineers mentally challenged?

While the latter is certainly possible, 1.333 ohms is stable if the amp can run 1 ohm. Technically you may draw slightly less power than the 1 ohm rating because you're not truly at 1 ohm, but you'll only run into trouble when you run below what the amp is rated at (i.e. 0.8ohm might give you trouble, the opposite is also true if you have a 4ohm rated amp you can easily run an 8+ ohm load, just without the full 4ohm rated power). You're essentially under utilizing the amp in that case, though probably not noticeably in the case of 1.333 vs 1.

the should of used a decimal.

1.3 vs 1 ohm = roughly the same output
