will 3 way components work?

i personally went with kappa components up front and kappa 6x9's. it sounded amazing w/o subs at all. i have them being powered by a kappa 4 amp (over RMS). then i threw 2 subs in the trunk. sometimes i leave the back seat down to let more air come in anyway (elminate rattle in rear deck).
the big thing with rear speakers is its preference. front stage like i think wraith said, is what we normally hear. and if you get a great front stage you will probably ahve the best quality... HOWEVER, most people are not used to front soundstage in a car. we are used to hearing it from all sides. so if you can get past that, go with the powerful fronts and you will be very very happy. for me, id rather have a little less quality all around , but maintain the sound coming from the back
I know this is not an ideal set up. but for someone who is not a professional with audio, it sounds great to me . i do realize that in the future, when i get more into audio, i will be able to tell the difference between good, and great, and perfect. but at this stage in time, this set up is perfect for me.
i also did listen to all of these guys when choosing equiptment btw. they know more about this stuff than most of us ever will

We (the 4-5 of us telling him no front stage) are in the minority.
Most people just want a louder or more clear sound.
Tweeter and mid placement means nothing to them.
Of the 30-35 set ups ive installed for friends only about 4 of them actually cared about the sound quality of the speakers.
They give me a budget and I try my best to fit the budget.
This is one thing I never push on people. If they just want speakers and an amp installed, ill do it.
If they want me to go further and build some crossovers ill do that also. Just depends on what the customer wants.

Everyone who's had any reservations about front soundstage stopped questioning it after getting in my car.
I had rears hooked up (running 75w to BA Pro60se's up front and 75w to the rear BA SC65's) and had them shut their eyes while I moved the fader from center to 100% front. Nobody in the front seat could ever tell the difference when the rears were on or off (including myself), so I just put it so I've got 150w to each of the fronts. The Pro60's love power, and it sounds much better (and louder) now.
