Amp and Speaker Replacement - Please verify

Hey - new to this forum, but not the Nissan/Infiniti family. Ive owned 2 4th gen Maximas, and 1 6th gen. Been on maxima forums for years, so I have a decent knowledge of cars...tho lacking in custom audio. I am replacing stock Bose amp and speakers, and I would like some feedback from seasoned veterans. Do not comment on the headunit.

1) What the **** happened to Bose? The stock systems in my 95/97 maximas were absolutely stellar IMO. What happened? They still used paper comes back in the day,so thats not the issue. I remembereach speaker had its own amp though. Could this be the cause? System in my 04 max and m G are pretty atrocious. Any insight?

2) I've already replzced the stock dor speakers and tweeters with Infiniti Reference 6030cs. Not great, but an Improvement. Next is addition of USA SPEC ipod adapter, amp replacement and remaining speakers. I am a 26 year old sales rep. I listen to mostly rock, some Wu tang family hip hop on occassion. Example: kings of leon - king of the rodeo. I am looking for improvements in overall volume, and tighter bass punch. Something as good as my old maxima. Please adviseon the following components:

http://www.amazon.com/JBL-GTO628-6-5-Inch-2-Way-Loudspeaker/dp/B003KN2TEY
http://www.amazon.com/JBL-GTO928-6-Inch-9-Inch-Loudspeaker/dp/B003KN2TG2/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1316033266&sr =1-1

Willing to spend 300 on amp, 200for remaining 4speakers.

Tight bass usually happens in the higher midbass octaves. Are your doors deadened and sealed? how much power are you giving the infinity's?

Infinty's usually have non-existant midbass, so that'll always be an issue.

You don't need 4 speakers. A pair of components upfront and a respectable amount of power will surprise the hell out of you.

so you have 500

I would get

Image dynamics cxs 2 ohm
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...v.2-2-ohm.html

On a good day, you can make an offer for like 250 and they'll accept it.

Soundstream stl 2.560

This will give you 280 x 2 @ 2 ohms
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SOUNDSTREAM-...#ht_4647wt_929

can't beat that for <125

Deal with it later when you have more money to spend, but you won't miss rear speakers.

You don't have to at all. I've got 1" tweeters sitting in the stock location using non-stock mounting.

Can I power the new components, AND the existing stock rear side panel and rear 6x9 speakers with that soundstream amp?

no.

Delete the rears all together

With a 560w front stage, that whole car will be filled with sound and then some...

sounds too good to be true, but i will probably end up doing it.

i assume, that if i wanted to keep the 4 rear speakers, i would need a 5 channel amp. correct?

I have about 150rms on each side and there is no need for rear speakers.

The clarity and power of mids driven with a lot of power and correct placement and crossover points will drastically change your point of view
