Question Newbie with Question about SAT Button

I just got my 03 DG coupe 6MT, looking to install my ipod and been reading about the PAC but a little confused on it all. I have the SAT button on my radio but do not have satellite installed. What exactly does that mean? do I have it prewired for satellite?

Will I be able to use those inputs to install the ipod using the PAC and how would I go about doing that? If that just involves plugging the PAC into the inputs (this is what I'm not sure if i have or not)

thanks for the help guys.

Depends on your build date on whether or not your pre-wired for SAT. The 03s were not all wired for Sat. I have the PAC unit and it's great. I'm using one input for my ps2 and the other for my ipod. Go to g35ipod.com for some pics and installation help.

hmm...where would the build date be. i read something on here that if you have the button then that means it was an 03.5 or something to that effect. i was just curious if i can actually use that button for something, especially since i want to do the mod in that link you gave me. thanks for the help. just trying to learn as much about my new favorite car as i can.

I saw the OEM Sirius receiver on Grubb's site but I still can't figure out if my car is pre-wired or not. I just got my car last week so i'm quite the noob. Like I said, I have the SAT button and it says No SAT when I push it. any ideas on how I can tell and what parts I need to hook up satellite using the OEM receiver? Thanks

take the trunk mat out, then remove the plastic section on the left of the spare tire, under it is the amp and a bundle of wires. If you see a multi pin white connector near the wire bundle, that is the end of the sat prewire cable and you are prewired. If not, you can still get sat with the stock head unit, you will just need to buy and install the prewire cable to run from the back of the stereo to the trunk. Grubbs has the pre wire cables if you need them.
