Rewiring Front Doors

Has anyone actually just taken the doors off and drilling new holes in them instead of drilling a hole through the molex to run new wires or is that just even more work?

Thanks

I don't think anybody who's done the wires through the molex has recommended anyone else do it. Just way too much work for a negligible gain at best.

So the stock wires are good enough to handle a 150 rms speaker?

After I get all my equipment together I'll take a look at it and if it's to much of a pain I'll just leave the stock wires on.

I actually seen pics of some that just drilled a hole, I think it was right under where the molex is located and put one of those rubber rings around the hole (not sure what they're called) that protect the wires and put a protective sleeve around the wires and it look pretty good. I'll try see if I can find the pics.

I've been running it like that for about two years now, 150w RMS per speaker, so yes.

Look how big the wires from the terminals on the speakers are to the coils. If your wiring to it is equal to or bigger than that, you're fine.

This is a $2,000 Focal 165 KRX3 150w RMS speaker:

And somebody's bound to say the length of the cable means you need thicker... for DC, yeah, but speaker signals are AC, so you're quite fine for the few feet the speaker signal has to go.
