Want to install a doublin din on my sedan but..
I do have the factory navigation system and i've read that you cannot use the metra installation kit that most websites provide if you have stock navi? Is this information correct? Would my only option be to use a JDM double din kit?
yes but i've noticed that its pretty expensive, and the site i was going to buy the in dash from includes the metra kit free i believe. Not even sure how hard it would be to find a tan jdm double din kit
You must be talking of crutchfield.com, no it's not free, but you get it 1/2 price.
You can modify the metra with the right skills, but it I don't recommend it at all. Do it right.

i was referring to sonicelectronix.com, it says that its free but i could be wrong. Either way all of this hassle is making me just want to buy another oem cd changer hahaha
are you talking about the dingy beige, like willow color? or like actual tan color? we have the Titanium kit with beige (willow) edges in stock, and then the whole beige (willow) finisher kit in stock

Nah, they'll give you the wiring harness and antenna adapter free, but not the metra kit by any means.

JVC Navigation Unit: $588
JDM Kit: Around $300 (06 Coupe, both kit and climate controls)
Rear View License-plate Mount Camera: $109 (Hey if the G37 has it, you might as well get it)
Installation: $250 (Included steering wheel controls, and installation on everything at one of the best shops in town NOT some Car Toys/Bestbuy chain either)
If you want to just get a DVD Head Unit (No Navi, No Rear view), then you still are looking at $700-900 depending on if you install yourself and quality of unit. The point is, if you can't pay the price of the JDM kit versus getting a free/discounted (realistically they probably won't do much of either) Metra kit, don't even bother. The Metra looks cheap, rubbery, and has questionable long-term issues. You should have bought a Ford if you wanted that.
BTW: Props to OC Infiniti and Grubbs for good deals. I would have gotten my kit from Grubbs but since I'm in Texas, the taxes were just going to be too much. Can't go wrong with them either way.
