FS: Coastal E Tech Backup Camera with wiring - BARCAMM221
Coastal E Tech Backup Camera with wiring - BARCAMM221
Up for sale is a used backup camera from Coastal E Tech. It is a BARCAMM221 model CMOS camera with "night vision". I had installed this on my Infiniti about a year ago but recently upgraded to a Boyo CCD based camera instead.
The camera is used but functions as expected. It has a very good night image (note this is not military night vision, but enhanced low-light response) and a good daytime image as well. The night vision is an added feature which most cameras can't compete with from what i've seen. Additional options are the distance markings overlayed on the screen, which tell you how far away you are from the object behind you. It also includes an additional ~10ft of extension wiring which combine the power and video connector so you can run the image from the rear of the car to the head unit/display. Powering this unit is straight forward, it simply uses the normal 12Vdc supply from your vehicle. I installed this myself and it was a snap. It uses a standard NTSC composite video cable (picture a normal yellow RCA cable, like the kind on your VCR if you still have one). You can view my installation thread here:

I will caution that on cold days here in the Northeast (below 30 degrees) the camera doesn't always work in the morning, but it will when the day gets a little warmer. So based on that if you can live with that shortcoming of the CMOS camera for a few days a year or if you live in a warmer area this will be a great camera for you! The techs at the manufacturer also stated that if I wire the camera to constantly be powered on when the car it wouldn't be an issue, but I never bothered to try it.
I'm a respected eBay seller and i've been on this forum for a few years now so several members can attest to my helpfulness, so on that note, feel confident that this product is exactly as I portrayed it.
I only accept paypal (unless you do a local pickup in which case we can exchange cash). I'm asking $70 shipped (typically this is $90 brand new before shipping and tax). PM me or email me at spastikjack6@yahoo.com with any questions or to make me an offer.
