I'm just wondering, how do you get air flow to the amps where the spare tire is? Won't they go into protect mode in summer when it gets too hott?

well whenever i do raise up the volume real loud, i drop the back seat to let the air flor from outside, i havent had anyproblems with it getting hot, only once when i was parked up and listening to music for about 1.5 hrs did it go into protect mode......i really want to upgrade the alternator but right now i dont have the funds with child support and all lol...modding the G very slowly

I still havent re done the sub woofer box, its been pounding real hard, all summer long with no issues......i do however wanna upgrade my current 6.5 inch 02 front door speakers to 8inch beyman, my car audio guy found a way to make them fit with the stock door panel, oem bose location, audio sleeper lol

so after re coning the sub and then it blowing out again after a month lol, i bought used BTL n2 for now until the new re cone kit comes for my original sub (takes about a month or two to be built).... also lowerd the bass from the amp to make sure i dont blow this out out

going with 2 12inch BTL's in the trunk for the spring, should be ordering the DC power high output alternator within the next week or so

wow takes 2 months to rebuild the speaker? Also, how much does the speaker weigh? It looks heavy.

actually it takes anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks for Fi to build you a re cone kit to ship to you, then to recone it takes about 2-3 days. Speaker weighs 43 lbs, and thats only because it uses Neodymium magnets, if not it weigh 15 to 20 lbs more.

I must have missed the part where you explain how you blew a 2000w rated sub with a 2200w amp. "Lowered the bass"?

1. Where's your LPF set at? What slope?

2. What's your HU, and what are the preamps rated at? (don't know your system)
2a. How high is the non fading (sub) preamp level set at?
2b. Are you using bass boost from the HU, or any loudness-type feats?
2c. Using a test tone, how high can you go on the volume scale before the signal clips? (i.e. did you remain under unclipped HU power)

3. What's the amp gain/sensitivity scale i.e. lowest & highest voltage levels taken in?

4. Did you build your ported enclosure within the parameters set by Fi? What's the tuning freq of the port?

If you have a hard time answering any of those questions, and considering you're running a 200+ amp system without a HO alt, don't be surprised you're having issues - sorry.
