Can you install a Honda/Acura Sirius Antenna on a G35?

My car is on order, I'm waiting for the dealer to locate a '05 G35X with my options, (basically everything but wood) Brilliant Silver w/ Stone interior, and Sirius.

I was hoping that Infiniti would have improved their satellite radio antenna installation on the '05, unfortunately they decided to stay with the "dead black rat" look on the roof.

I'm basically planning on keeping my car stock...but that antenna will have to go! Honda/Acura does a real nice job with their installations. Does anybody know if the Honda sirius antenna can be adapted to the G35? I do realize that mounting the antenna on the rear deck is an option but since I will be getting window tinting I feel the roof is the best place, after all when it comes to antenna's higher is always better.

Can't wait to get in my new G35X car and GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

There is a new Nissan/Infiniti internal sat antenna coming out soon for Sirius.

See about halfway down in this post for more info and a picture.

The SAT antennas arn't made per manufactuerer, they are made for either XM or Sirius (they actually operate on different frequencys). I installed XM in my G myself so I know for a fact that the Gs SAT antenna uses the standard plug. If you can find a honda antenna that has the same plug then it should be plug in play. Every XM antenna I have ever seen has had the same plug on it, but its hard to tell when OEMs step in and start making demands. However though, I can tell you that I have personally spliced the XM antenna wire in several vehicles. There was a rumor when XM first came out that it was a 7 layered coax cable or something like that. In reality the first antennas were dual coax (2 separate cables) and the new ones are just 1 single coax. I guess what I am trying to say is if you have the Infiniti XM wire plugged into the XM box then in a worst case scenario you can splice the honda one in, although they should have the same plugs and technologically they are identical.

Kevin brings up another good point that Sirius and XM are on seperate frquencies. You are asking about Sirius, but I think Honda only has XM.

Question

I just installed the Sirius Sat in my prewired 04 coupe (5AT) and couldn't find a decent alternative area to install the antenna so I went with the standard location, on the roof. However, has anyone given any thought to painting the antenna? I was thinking about going to a Pep Boys or somewhere and getting silver metallic car paint and just painting the antenna.
What do you guys think? Do you think this could be a major disaster? or something to look into?
Your thoughts are definitely appreciated.
