Upgrading 2004 G35 6mt stereo to Double Din- need advice
I have a 2004 G35 Coupe with the manual 6.
I want to upgrade the stereo and install a pioneer avh-????? (havent decided which one yet).
The problem I have is I hate the silver trim, I want it all black. Although I would consider polished aluminum that matches my macbook pro.
I found this on japan parts .com for $141, which I see being sold other places for $300.

Ive been having trouble finding the replacement trim around the gear shifter that is also black like the din adapter. Could anyone tell me where i can get a full black kit or the polished aluminum kit?
Here is what it all looks like now, stock.

I HAVE searched the forums and I havent found much information.
Thanks

First off that price of 141 is only for the Console, secondly your missing the AC controls. Your going to need both to do the conversion. There are tons of threads regarding the JDM DD install on the boards. Do a bit of research and you'll get the hang of it. check out grubbs for the full kit. they range between 300-350 for the full console and A/C control. Good luck.
here is a starting point check it out.

Also you said "check out grubbs for the full kit". Is grubbs a manufacture or what?
Thanks
Grubbs is a member here at Driver and has some sort of parts shop in the O.C. (CA). Good guy, friendly and will help you out with whatever he can. Just shoot him a PM.
As far as black console trim I haven't seen it, but would you consider modifying your current piece? Probably save a lot of money that way anyhow.

I still would like to be able to find the polished aluminum kit.
^^ yeah, and then you're not limited to just black and silver, there are some here that have gone with a nice carbon fiber wrap. My local tint shop told me they do have all kinds of vinyl in case I needed any interior or exterior parts wrapped. If your friend can't do it then I'm sure your local stereo or tint shops will probably do vinyl wraps.
