Stereo question
sup guys. I'm getting an amp and sub installed tomorrow, and I have a nice 4 channel amp laying around that I was thinking of using to replace the stock bose amp that came with the car. My question is if it will sound much better since im still using the stock bose speakers? If I like my sub/amp combo i'll eventually add the 4 channel amp and some new door speakers anyways, but I am not sure if it's worth it to go ahead and do it. It costs $95 extra for him to install the amp so that's why im kinda of debating it. Thanks in advance!
also, if anyones wondering the sub/amp i got is a amp and a Subwoofer.
Also, the 4 channel amp for speakers im considering installing is a Kicker PDX-F4

Problem with the kicker amp (and I'm pretty sure the Hifonics as well), is that it's not designed to accept the differential-balanced signal put out by the bose headunit.

Now, if you've got an aftermarket headunit, go for the swap.
Also, the bose amp is the biggest POS I've ever seen, so do whatever it takes to get rid of it.

yeah well I decided to keep the stock amp (for now). also for the different balanced signal, couldn't you use low line converters? I'm very new to audio so I might be totally wrong. My car should be done in a few hours though, im excited to hear how it sounds with a real sub!
No, a low-line converter won't work.
If you read the post I linked, that'll explain why.
With the volume low, the sub should be ok, but just remember, that the internal EQ in the bose amp cuts bass as the volume goes up, so you're never going to get your full potential out of it.
