I have an 2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe -- can anyone tell me me the speaker mounting depth for:

• Front door
• Rear seat side panel
• Rear deck

I would like to install in the front a pair of Infinity Kappa 50.9cs (woofer top-mount depth: 2-3/16), in the rear passenger seat side panel a pair of Infinity Kappa 52.9i (top-mount depth: 2-3/16"), and in the rear deck a pair of Infinity Kappa 692.9i (top-mount depth: 3-5/16")

Will these fit? It would be nice to know the available speaker depth in the various locations BEFORE I purchase the speakers.

Any info would be appreciated, please.

I have some CDT ES-6 mids in the door and they are 2.75" deep and I have no issues.

I have a Sedan but i think the depths are the same.

Either way you will need a spacer. I have a 3/4" spacer.

check with crutchfield.com. there techs are really good about speaker depth

 

Do you (or anyone else) happen know what the maximum speaker depth is for the rear seat side panel speakers are?

For those people whom might be interested, I removed the door trim panel and also the rear seat side panel and inspected the speakers and speaker cavities to measure the mounting options. Here are my findings:

Front Door Speaker (6.5"):

• Speaker (woofer) depth: 2.5" -- this is height of the entire speaker assembly measured from the back of the speaker (magnet) to the front/top edge of the plack plastic housing that holds and mounts the speaker.
• Speaker (woofer) cavity depth: 2.5" -- measured from the door panel to the shallowest part toughing the window glass.

Tweeter (1"):

• Tweeter height: 11/16" -- physical hight of tweeter measured front to back

Rear Seat Speaker (6.5"):

• Speaker (woofer) depth: 2.5" -- this is height of the entire speaker assembly measured from the back of the speaker (magnet) to the front/top edge of the plack plastic housing that holds and mounts the speaker.
• Speaker (woofer) cavity depth: 1.5" -- measured from the speaker mounting bracket to the shallowest part toughing metal side panel.
• Black ring that holds the speaker: 1.25" wide (height)
• Space behind speaker: 3/16 ~ 1/4" -- when the speaker is mounted there is about a 0.1875 ~ 0.25" space between the rear of the speaker magnet and the metal side panel behind it.

Rear Deck Speakers (6x9"):

• Not yet measured
