He might be able to get you a could price or as good as it gets at least. But honestly there is nothing wrong with the remote you chose. I guess I just like the sleeker look of the newer one.

And as for painting, you could go to an arts and crafts store and pick up some gloss paint a sealer and a small paint brush to make it clean. It'd take some DIY work and taking the keyfob apart or at least doing a good tape job so that you don't get any paint inside the crevasses near the buttons.
