Illumination and brake lights not turning on

I recently installed a double din in my 2003 sedan, however last night noticed that the dash lights and tail lights were not turning on at night. I found that a wire from the radios wiring harness was exposed and I'm guessing caused a short. Covered it up and went to look at the fuses however no fuses were blown out. I'm kinda stuck now and don't know where to look

I'm only aware of the fuse box by the emergency brake and the other one in front of the battery, where's the third one? Any idea which fuse I should be looking for?

There's two in the battery box. Use a multimeter and check 'em all. Visual checks can miss things.

Took the car to two mechanics and an electrical place. All fuses were good and they didn't know what could be the problem. Any ideas before I throw money at someone for an easy fix?

I'd double-check with this thread, as you're definitely experiencing similar symptoms.

Is it because you used the wrong illumination / dimmer wire on the radio?

Thanks for the replies, sure enough I went to check the fuses myself and found the tail light fuse blown. That third fuse box is way in there, took me quite some time to find it. All is good now, I can't believe 3 mechanics couldn't figure that out.
