Wink Spare tire sub

Does anyone build a fiberglass enclosure for the spare tire area of a coupe. I want to install a JL Audio 12w3v2 into that area, because the rest of the trunk is full of my golf equipment. Golf is my life, so there is no way I am going to give up that space.

not that I know of, but a friend is selling one that holds two 10" subs, made for a Jetta by Myer-Emco. I've been shopping recently so I fit it in the spare compartment for fitment (2004 coupe) - it actually surprised me how good a fit it was. There's an indentation in the center bottom of the box that accomodates the receptacle that's used to fasten the spare - it actually fastens the box securely, and leaves room for an amp in front between the box and tail lights. He was using two Boston Pro subs (not sure which model, but they were very efficient in tight spaces, and the box is .52 per side). It hit REAL tight. Impressive. He sold the Jetta and is now selling the entire system (Alpine iva-d900, Fosgate 1100a2 and 800a4 amps)...The box actually sits approximately 2" higher than the rest of the floor of the G35 coupe (and did in his Jetta). He made a two-piece wood mold for the floor, put the factory mat over top, fastened it together and it looked stealth.

PM me if you want more info.

I saw pictures somewhere of a build with a massive 15" in the center.

Interesting

Thanks for the link. My 12" is to deep for this, but maybe I could raise the floor a hair. Or, trade it in for a 10". I am not sure. And yes I could put my clubs in the back seat, but that would be a last resort. I think a solution would present itself eventually.

If this was built for a jetta, and can fit in a g I want to see pics. Sorry we are talking about 2 different cars and I have never seen one fit another. They are molded to the spare tire floor. Each car is not the same.
Please provides pics to prove me wrong.

Do you already have the sub or are you just planning on buying a 12" sub. And if you are buying the 12" sub do you have a specific reason?

I like it.

I think I will do the same, but with just a single 10" sub or 12" if I can make it work. Thanks for the info.

I used to have a 15" sub in my sedan but recently changed the setup... I didn't care about space and decided to take up the entire trunk for 2 12's in a ported box instead. I would actually recommend 1 12" sub in the spare tire area vs. the 15". It never hit the way I wanted it to.
