Do anyone have an aftermarket alarm?
Hello,
I've installed a Viper 791 in my 2003.5 G35 Auto Sedan. It works fine, and the factory alarm is left completely intact. My installer (a friend of a friend) said that it was best to leave the old alarm there; I think tampering with it may cause issues or something.
It's a great two-way alarm. Don't expect the two-wayness of it to actually reliably alert you to the alarm gonig off, though. The range is not useful and is greatly reduced by any blockage (i.e., if you're in a building). Regardless, I love the two-way of it because the remote tells me if I remembered to arm, the range is far better than a normal alarm, and it gives positive confirmation when I activate the remote start (the range is also really nice when I use this).
