Hi I'm currently deployed in Afghanistan with the USMC. I want to redo basically the whole audio system in my G when I get home. I'm hoping to order parts before I leave shortly so your help and input is greatly appreciated.

First off I had the common A/C Radio Control glitch. So to fix this I plan to use the following:

Metra Dash Kit
Kenwood Excelon KDC-X396 - http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KDCX...-KDC-X396.html

For door speakers and amp

Hifonics ZRX 600.4
Amazon Amazon

Polk db651
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DB65...io-db651s.html

A questions I have about these is do I need the shallow mount or can I go full size, is there much sound difference between the two?

And for the sub and amp

This kenwood amp:

Amazon Amazon

Dcon 12 as the sub in a prefab enclosure becaiuse I do not have time to make one.

Does this look like it will fit well together, I am rather new at this so any input is helpful.

Looks like you're going on a really thin budget, which is fine.

If you're kinda set on that radio, I'd pay the extra $5 to get the HD Radio receiver in the KDC-X596. It's virtually identical in every other way. If you've never had HD Radio before, the reception is CD-quality, and San Diego has a lot of HD FM stations - http://www.hdradio.com/stations/Cali...A/San+Diego-78

Hopefully somebody like eggyhustles with a bit more insight into the speakers and amps to give you recommendations in the budget you're apparently going for.

How thin of a budget are you on, OP?

I would completely forget about a sub and get better speakers. Those polks won't sound much better than the stock mids..brighter yes..but that's about it.

Put the 150ish on top of that 100 you were gonna spend on the polks. That'll get you a damn good pair of components.

With that budget, you shouldn't even bother with that kenwood.

Has a **** poor dac and very minimal features.

Pioneer 80prs
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_13080PR...S.html?tp=5684

JBL ms62
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-PAIR-JBL...ht_3317wt_1397

ppi p600.2
http://www.ebay.com/itm/P600-2-PRECI...5a0851&vxp=mtr

Under $800.

Down the line, get yourself 2 or 3 of these and call it a day

I hope this means they're back in stock. I ordered one of these amps from woofersetc.com for my wife's car about a week and a half ago and they said they didn't have any at the time. Been waiting on it.

Ditch the rears and just focus on the fronts

The speakers connect to the crossover

crossover connects to amp

Amp gets signal from headunit

Metra Dash Kit
Kenwood Excelon KDC-X596

For door speakers and amp

PPI 600.2
Jbl ms-62

And for the sub and amp
Kenwood KAC-8105D
Dcon 12

How about this? Kinda a mixture, I'm kinda set on a sub. Just love some good bass. This is going a little over my budget closer to the 900 - 1000 dollar range. But do you guys think it would be worth it?

That terrible headunit is gonna be the weak link in the setup.

That's the most important component, too.

Get the dcon 15 if trunk space isn't a concern

Let's revamp a lil

Pioneer 80prs $350
JBL ms62 $175 (1 pair)
PPI sedona 5 channel. $139 http://www.ebay.com/itm/PRECISION-PO...ht_2878wt_1163

This will give u 380 x 2 for the front components and 280 x 1 @ 2 ohms for the dcon. Not much on the sub channel, but the 15 is very efficient and will perform with minimal power

Total is $664. That's before price of deadening, sub, and misc interconnects.
