Been a while! Tech question....
Hi Folks,
Been a long while since I posted here. When I got my 2004 G35 (in '04) I was so excited and really involved with the community here. Can't remember the last time I visited
Still have my 'G' and she has only 49K miles on it -- still a baby!
Once of the things I'm started to covet in newer cars is the technology, particularly the Bluetooth integration for iPhones and Android devices. I was wondering if anyone was using an successful mods to obtain this functionality?
I'm almost wanting to replace the in-dash nav screen with some kind of phone mount (keeping the pop-up mechanism, but replacing the screen with a dock), but would not have the first clue on how to do that, or if such a thing can be done?
Happy to be back and would appreciate any thoughts or insight to modernizing the tech of the old girl.
Thanks!

Thanks -- will definitely look into that.
Sounds like you should just replace the stock radio completely. A phone dock would actually be rather awesome in the nav screen, and wouldn't be too hard to fabricate a dock in there either, depending on how big your phone is.
Thanks everyone. After considering all the options, I determined that most of the adapters, thought good suggestions all around, were too invasive for me at the moment. Mostly because shortly after I got the car, I put in a pac-audio aux input to the SAT din. Once I reviewed the GROM and other choices, this was basically all that was happening, anyway, with the inclusion of the USB adapter on the module.
As such, I ended up going with the Belkin CarAudio Connect AUX with Bluetooth ( ). I was able to run the connections to my aux-in pretty inconspicuously, with only the controller button exposed.
As it turns out, I got 2 unexpected benefits with this:
1. Brings the mic closer to my face... a good thing since the way I mounted my phone, the device mic is actually pointed away from me. I got complaints about it during calls, so hopefully, this addresses it altogether.
2. Music actually pauses when the car is shut off. Unlike iDevices, Adroid phones do not necessarily pause music when the power supply is interrupted. Now, since the BT connection is broken, the music does pause, saving me a step when I leave the car.
Of course, it's not super-integrated. I don't get steering wheel controls, or anything, but the button is in easy reach to pause music, skip tracks, and answer calls. In short does 90% of what I was looking for in a $38 package that took 12 minutes to install and hide wires.
Thanks again for the suggestions!
