Stereo and A/C controls go dead!

Hello,

About half the time I dive my stereo and A/C controls will go dead. I can still control the stereo volume from my steering wheel, but not the dash.
Just wondering how I can repair this?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Check your fuses first. Might be a blown fues. For coupes you have to remove the battery cover to get to the fuse box. Not sure for sedans. GL

Fuses wouldn't cause this problem at all.

If it's the control board that's bad, you can replace it, however, it's the bad power circuit in the headunit that probably caused the current one to burn out in the first place. Putting a replacement in will be only a temporary solution until it is also fried.

Best to put your money towards a new aftermarket headunit and the JDM or Metra trim.

Thanks for the help - Where do I get a aftermarket headunit?

JDM or Metra - I need to change my dash?

Amazon.com, crutchfield.com, sonicelectronix.com ... a local audio shop, wherever has one you want at a good price.

You only need to change the trim around the radio. Check this post here for an idea of what's involved:

Ok just so I understand this better: (sorry, I don't know much about car audio equipment)
There isn't really away of repairing what I have? ie new board?

If I get the JDM dash do I need the 1:AM/FM Antenna adapter? and my steering wheel controls work so is the 2. Steering Wheel Interface?

Do I use the current circuit board, or does the JDM come with a new one?

If I don't have nav - do I just have to live with the big gaping hole(I'm guessing the stock radio/sound system doesn't fit)?

Thanks,

It can be repaired by a few places for about $150, search this forum for different places people have used.

With the JDM dash, you need the antenna adapter and steering wheel adapter. It will come with a new climate control board, the aftermarket radio takes care of the rest.

There's no hole left behind, your storage compartment transfers right over.
