From the diagram in the IP section of the 2005 Service Manual, the picture Yosi sent us is *probably* for the navi screen. The red diamonds are probably where the stock navi screen's housing bolts on to.
The Service Manual picture does not show the "crossbar" (indicated by the red arrows).
I still think you can use your stock bracket and don't have to order another one.

I think the point is that this is a part that needs to be special ordered. It's also not a high demand item. I would not expect the price to go down and will probably go up when Nissan stops producing 03/04 dins and only 05 dins are available (and the same thing when a new model comes out that won't fit in the 05).

Doc, any word on an 05 DIY??? should i take pics of mine in the process? im gonna do all the dirty work myself, then have my installer guy do the wiring for the navi/ aux/ pac/ rca's...
05 should basically be the same as the 04 right? except i got 6MT now...

the 05 conversion should be slightly different. the HVAC unit is smaller and there are smaller dash pieces that disconnect from the HVAC unit on the right and left sides. The driver-side middle AC vent is a separate piece instead of attached to the double DIN dash piece. The passenger-side middle AC vent is connected to the glovebox piece too.
The 05 HVAC unit should be easier to work with since it will be smaller.
Print out my DIY guide and take similar pictures I took when you do your 05 conversion. I can help you do a DIY guide for the 05's and you can get it posted on g-owners.com and also get 13,000+ hits!
Remember always take more pictures than you need at different angles and lighting so you can pick and choose pictures when doing a DIY guide. Also, take pictures of areas of screw and clip locations when removing dash panels as this will help determine if we can retrofit an 03-04 dash to a 05 dash using 05 dash parts.
exciting!
