I used this thread to buy what I needed from a fella in Japan named "Yoshi". There are probably stateside sources for the kit by now, as I bought my kit in 2006 or 7. I have to see how you post pictures of the results. I had a professional installer do the work, and it turned out great. There are some issues you should be aware of:

Bluetooth: depends on unit you install, but you lose the factory Bluetooth, which I think is pretty nice. However, I am willing to lose it for the sound improvement (huge). Aftermarket Bluetooth accessories for decks are available, and if you use a Kenwood like I did, some have Bluetooth devices that plug into them. I did find the sound quality to be poor at times, and eventually I installed an older deck I had that did not have Bluetooth hook up capability, but I use a Jabra that I bought at Costco for $69 and the performance is excellent (plus I can use it in other cars)

Steering wheel controls. Again, depends on deck, but there are aftermarket devices that can be wired to work with steering wheel controls. However, talk to a professional about the deck you want to use, because the best option is to use something proprietary for that manufacturer and that deck. The ones that are wireless are not that good in my opinion. Go with direct wire devices.

Speakers. You can keep the Bose speakers, if you want. I had original German made MB Quart components that I installed and an MB Quart sub in the trunk with a custom made enclosure. The sound is better with good quality aftermarket speaker components. But it depends on how much money you want to spend.

Amplifiers, processors. Not a lot of room in the trunk for multiple amplifiers and processors. The interior is cardboard, so you really have to fabricate a panel to mount at the rear to mount things. I had no more room after mounting three amplifiers, so I had to attach the CD changer to the floor mat by the opening to the trunk. Works OK. I will have to velcro the Audiocontrol electronic crossover to the cardboard interior on the right side, near the opening to the trunk. Unfortunately, there is only room for wires under the rear seats. Any other ideas people can share for this issue would be appreciated. I have to also install an Audiocontrol equalizer and I have no where so far to put it.

I have a JDM DDIN kit. It wasn't cheap, but it fits perfectly, and is made of aluminum and looks great!

On a 2004 G35, is it possible to cut the AC controls off the OEM circuit board and install into the metra faceplate?
