great...now compare the screw holes and plastic retaining clips of the 05 to the 03-04 dash finisher and take pix.

How much was the dash piece and the ACC? Is it me or does the 05 ACC look a little cheapo?

Is the whole dash piece aluminum or simply plastic plated with brushed aluminum?

take lots of pix when you do conversion.....so you can do DIY guide for 05 model!

You'll be the first in the US to do 05 DD conversion!!!!!!! (that we know of....)

Dash piece and ACC = $403.60

I ordered mine last week

I personally like the 05 ACC unit much better than the 04, The twist **** owns all!

No clue on the other questions.

Oh, and if he does not take enough pic's on his install, I will defineatly make up for it

Does $403.60 include shipping from Japan as well as the 5% credit card fee????? That's pretty steep when the 03-04 "kit" costed $401 but included an aluminum bracket, dash pocket, blank bracket, ACC and DD dash finisher....wow

How much was the ACC and the dash finisher separately?

Thanks Solid for the part numbers. I can now order and start my install. I am planning on putting the Pioneer 7500 DVD fold out DVD player and the Pioneer DVD88 Navigation Unit in the Double Din opening. As far as the pocket where the factory Nav unit comes in I want to put 2 4" JL Audio XR400 in it. I understand their is a Monitor Display Cover part # 28075AM603. I am going to try to utilize this piece for the center channel. Anyone that has done this I would like to see a pic.

thanks......to think I did that DIY guide 11 months ago and it already has 14,000 hits! lol But, It has been good for a lot of people though so that makes me happy that I could help.

The Dual Climate Control (DCC) swap for the 05 should be very similar to the 03-04 swap. Desolder/resolder green circuit button and swap black plastic buttons on ACC face. Just be careful of the ACC face button's clips as they are very tiny and can be easily broken.

Man, the JDM ACC went up $60 bucks from $220 to $280 (from J's). Grubbs was listing their 03-04 JDM ACCs for $199.

Now when either you SF or Kia (Grider35c) do your DIY guide, we need to condense all of these threads of 05 DD conversion, ACC, DCC swap, part numbers etc into one place.

That's a great idea. Searching around gets a bit confusing and there are multiple threads with tidbits of great information.
