GRider35c, thanks for Yoshi's email.

I have contacted him and am going to be ordering the Double Din Dash, AC Controller, Chassis (w/Nav), Pocket & Blank (Just in case).

My question is, I have Navigation. Am I still gonna need the AV Electronic piece, or something like it, so that I can hook it up to the factory Nav. setup to retain Nav. audio, or is there another way?

I plan on installing either a Double Din head unit or use a two din "Stacked" setup.

Either way, I will be adding a DVD source.

What do you guys think?

i really dont know how the stock navi works... or how its gonna hook up to your new headunit to get sound from your stock navi to the new headunit...

AV Electronics lets you use your navi screen for the dvd player, so i think you will still need that piece...

how to get audio from the stock navi to your new headunit is my question, i think its been done but i havent been paying much attention, since i dont have stock navi...

By the way, why can't we use the original A/C controller?

Thanks

the stock ACC is integrated on ONE IC board with the radio/CD controls. If you try to use the ~ 7x8" IC board, you will not be able to fit your aftermarket HU in the DD slot

Search. I've seen this info in the forum. You may not be able to get sound out of speakers, but you can install a single speaker under the dash or seat and it will output sound from navigation. I think it takes a relay to send the signal from the navi to the mute circuit of your aftermarket head unit (most have a mute signal wire). Sorry, I don't have a link to the original post.
